When a client asked Steve Lecas, owner of Gander Builders to build a replica of their Tuscan style home in Frankfort, Illinois, he didn’t hesitate to take on the project. As a custom luxury home builder, Lecas creates custom homes to meet the specific needs of his clients. He traveled to Scottsdale, Arizona to tour the home and meet with the homeowner. He videotaped the luxury ranch style home to capture the unique details and finishes. He even met with the home’s builder to compile a list of materials used on the project.
This custom luxury home combines traditional Tuscan style architectural elements with Southwestern design and décor, for a truly one-of-a-kind home. However, Lecas’ team at Gander Builders made sure the design of this very large and unique home fit in with Frankfort, Illinois’ historic downtown setting. It took just two years to get every detail of this amazing custom residence just right.
Despite boasting an incredible 16,000 square feet of living space, this custom luxury home manages to radiate warmth and charm. The walls feature a rich, Venetian plaster finish. Southwestern furniture pieces and design touches help make this home undeniably unique in the area. With 5 bedrooms and 7 baths, the home offers plenty of room for family and friends.
This amazing luxury ranch style home also features some special elements designed especially for the homeowners, including a gift wrapping room, pool locker rooms, as well as movie theater style seating and fiber optic ceiling tiles in the media room. The two car garage even converts to a heated, indoor basketball court. Items like these make creating custom luxury homes a fun challenge for builder Steve Lecas.
Natural elements enhance the beauty of this incredible luxury custom home. Natural stone from Tennessee adorns the outside of the residence, creating a magnificently rugged facade. Ceiling beams, inside and outside the home, crafted from timber harvested in Idaho, provide a prominent focal point. The entire main floor features travertine marble floors with hand cut, travertine marble baseboards. The great room features handscraped 6 inch white oak planks to coordinate with the beams overhead.
Though the home embodies design styles found in the warmer climates of Tuscany and the Southwest, Lecas made sure the home would stand up to the cold Midwest winters of Frankfort, Illinois. Radiant heat warms the travertine marble floors on the main floor of the residence. Energy-efficient vinyl windows keep the home pleasant all through the year.
A large, screened porch off the basement great room can be used year round due to the addition of energy-efficient windows. These can be closed when the weather turns cold. A full kitchen in the basement makes entertaining a breeze and offers every convenience. The warm design style of this custom luxury home even extends to the basement and screened porch. Mexican floor tiles add Southwestern style, while the ceiling features fir tongue and groove planks, stained a rich, mellow brown. A marble balcony above the screen porch offers a lovely view.
As a custom luxury home builder, Steve Lecas and his team at Gander Builders rose to the challenge in creating this incredible custom home. A simple request from the client to recreate their former home involved many design challenges. Lecas and his team embraced each challenge to create this extremely large, one-of-a-kind custom home. As a custom luxury home builder in Frankfort, Illinois, Lecas enjoys creating amazing residences for his clients.
